Identification details


Version I 1951-1952 Handlebar in chromed steel with aluminium end caps, small pedal (modified from mid-1952 with cable operation and larger pedal), saddle frame with 25 C-type conical tool carrier tube (modified from mid-1952 with new saddle frame with cylindrical tool carrier tube and cap closed with a clip), black 2-position light switch with chrome cover, horn with “flower” grille. Smooth fork cover (from mid-1952 with and indent to contain the larger bushes). Engine mounted on plain bearings (Silent Blocs from mid-1952).
Earliest examples of the 125 D: rear toolbox with small 125 C-type clasps. A second porthole on the engine cover close to the torsion bar mount that was intended to permit the fitting of a return damper never actually adopted.
Version II 1953 Adjustable handlebar in aluminium with plastic levers, front brake enlarged to 125 mm, passenger grab-handle incorporated in rear saddle, 2-position light switch in ivory-colour plastic, horn with traditional grille (from around February 1953). Toolbox lid lock with cover
Version III 1945 Cable adjusters on the clutch and front brake levers, dark green saddle covers, front position light and 3-position white light switcg with chrome cover (from mid-1954), grips with hand-shields.
Final batch 1955 Handlebar in chrome-plated steel (still adjustable and with plastic levers), lubricator on the fron fork stems.
Final examples Provision for a rear damper on the transmission housing.

Body colou parts Fork, fork covers, frame, leg-shield, fuel tank, toolbox and cover 2 glovebox cross-members, headlamp, front and rear mudguards, steeringhead badge mount.
Aluminium paint Wheel hubs, wheel rims, front brake shoe backing plate, front and rear saddle frames (including all large and small springs), stand, 2 underfloor cross-members, spare wheel holder, license plate holder and its tool tube strut and cover, torision bar lever.
Crankcase and flywheel cover Aluminium paint.
Carburettor Air filter painted aluminium silver, burnished body, nickelplated screws and fittings, bare aluminium cover and “tickler”.
Control cable sheaths Grey, nickel-plated Teleflex sheath (cadmium-plated from mid-1954).
Saddles mid-brown, coarse grain imitation leather, “Aquila Continentale” rear script. The rear saddle may be either triangular or rectangular (1951-52 only). From 1954, dark green, fine grain imitation leather with :Innocenti” rear script.
Silencer Matte black.

Chromed parts


Frame Handlebar (if in steel) and its details, brake pedal. Bolts on central handlebar mount (1953-1954). Passenger’s footrest support rod and steeringhead cable clip. Rear glovebox lock cover (1953-1954 only).
Electrical parts Headlamp and tail lamp surrounds, horn grille, light switch cover (from 1954).

Front fork Front wheel carriers, screws and pins.
Frame All screws and bolts, lubricators, steeringhead lower bearing cap, torision bar figure-of-eight clip, special washers, bushes.

Attention! Note: Towards mid-1954 cadium plating (similar to white zinc) was introduced in place of nickel plating. This new treatment was adopted once the stockof nickel-plated material was exhausted; it is therefore possible to find 1954 Lambrettas with both nickel- and cadmium-plated parts.
