Version I 1951-1952 Handlebar in chromed steel with aluminium end caps, small pedal (modified from mid-1952 with cable operation and larger pedal), saddle frame with 25 C-type conical tool carrier tube (modified from mid-1952 with new saddle frame with cylindrical tool carrier tube and cap closed with a clip), black 2-position light switch with chrome cover, horn with “flower” grille. Smooth fork cover (from mid-1952 with and indent to contain the larger bushes). Engine mounted on plain bearings (Silent Blocs from mid-1952). Side covers with portholes with chrome rings, “Lambretta” script in aluminium on the leg-shield and the “Innocenti” badge above the headlamp.
Earliest examples of the 125 LD: A second porthole on the engine cover close to the torsion bar mount that was intended to permit the fitting of a return damper never actually adopted.
Version II 1953 Adjustable handlebar in aluminium with plastic levers, front brake enlarged to 125 mm, passenger grab-handle incorporated in rear saddle, 2-position light switch in ivory-colour plastic, horn with traditional grille (from around February 1953). Side panels with plastic air vent grilles (version I panels were fitted to the earliest examoples of the ’53 LD), plastic “LD shield badge on the leg-shield.
Version III 1945 Cable adjusters on the clutch and front brake levers, dark green saddle covers, front position light and 3-position white light switch with chrome cover (from mid-1954), grips with hand-shields. New, larger saddles closed at the front introduced around mid-1954, fitted with dark green covers and bi-conical rather than conical springs; in this case the tool carrier tube was replaced with a triangular toolbox mounted on the rear mudguard. Rubber handlebar control cable sheaths introduced towards the end of 1954.
Final batch 1955 Handlebar in chrome-plated steel (still adjustable and with plastic levers), lubricator on the fron fork stems. Larger 150 D-type carburettor air filter.

Attention! Note: Towards mid-1954 cadium plating (similar to white zinc) was introduced in place of nickel plating. This new treatment was adopted once the stockof nickel-plated material was exhausted; it is therefore possible to find 1954 Lambrettas with both nickel- and cadmium-plated parts.
